Start with local rules
Open NameSense, choose Date and Original Filename, and add supported files. This rule combines the creation date and original filename without an API key. Generate names, review the preview, then apply.
Give every name a consistent structure
Add a counter with a starting number and digit count. You can also use fixed text, the parent folder name, or a segment of the original filename, joined by your chosen separator.
Review each change before applying
Generating a name does not immediately rename a file. Check each suggestion, select the files to apply, then confirm. Preflight checks identify invalid names, duplicate targets, and occupied paths.
Free for small batches
Free supports 10 files per generation batch. Start the 14-day Pro trial for larger batches. Removing the batch cap does not remove file-format or content-extraction safety limits.
