01 · Choose Date and Original Filename
Open NameSense and select Date and Original Filename in the naming-rule sidebar. This built-in rule uses the creation date and original filename and runs on your Mac.
02 · Add a small batch
Click Add Files or drag supported files into the workspace. Start with a few files you can easily check. Free supports up to 10 files per generation batch.
03 · Generate and review
Select Generate Names and compare the suggestions with the originals. Check dates, names, and extensions, then select the entries to change. Address warnings or errors first; generated suggestions are not yet applied renames.
04 · Apply and undo
Confirm the rename. NameSense checks conflicts before applying eligible changes. Use the app’s history and undo controls if you need to restore names. Moving files in another app may prevent a safe restore.
Next: save your usual pattern
Use the rule editor to adjust date formats, counters, and separators. Once you know the local workflow, add AI parts such as a title when useful.
